The race for the better

In a relay race, if the fastest person amongst all the groups have team members who can’t run fast, his/her team will never make it first in the competition. Other teams that have average runners woul even beat them.

Retirement and handing over are two very common and important things practiced amongst we humans. I mean, who wants to see his/her hard earned effort go down the drain? Everyone’s desire is to see whatever they handed over flourish.

As an individual who is handed over to; you have three choices- you can either do better than your predecessors, carry on the same legacy and remain on the same level as your predecessors, or do worse than, repeat errors and even undo what your predecessors have done. No one chooses for you.

If you’re the one who decides to do better, you’ll be like the person that, no matter how fast and how well the person handing the baton to you did, you’re determined to do better, to ensure your team wins.

If you’re the second, you’ll be like the person who is comfortable with the predecessor’s speed and just decides to continue on that speed, as long as nobody is nearby to over-take. You might technically just become a mediocre and loosing might just happen when you never expect, when it seems you’re on the lead and someone comes with last energy to over-take.

If you’re the third, remember the individual who’s fastest amongst all the runners but has a bad team? You’re certainly going to makeup that bad team. That individual might be the fastest amongst all the runners, but your actions can impact a great loss. At the end of the day, when this team looses, nobody remembers that it had the fastest runner in it.

Whatever you do, just know that God doesn’t want you to be a mediocre. Last I remember, the devil is still cunning. He doesn’t also want you to be an undoer, it will bring a great loss to the work He has committed to your hands.

Whatever was handed over to you, either directly or indirectly from God, He always wants us to do better. Jesus wasn’t a mediocre on earth and the greatest gift He has given to us is The One who is greater than He, so we can do better.

Let’s sort to do better this week, through the help of the HolySpirit. Have a nice week.❤
